The European football season may be coming to a close, but across the Atlantic the Major League Soccer season is still in its infancy. Now entering their eighth round of matches, the league tables are slowly beginning to take shape giving fans of fantasy soccer betting the chance to take advantage, and with no team able to boast anything like a 100 percent record, this could prove to be an exciting season for MLS fans.

The surprise package this season are Philadelphia Union who, despite a mixed run of form, have stormed to the top of the Eastern Conference with four wins from a possible seven. This weekend The U play host to San Jose Earthquakes, a side who find themselves in mid-table with four wins, two draws and two defeats, but with top goalscorer Chris Wondolowski in fine form. DraftKings fans may look to the Earthquakes’ frontman, available on DraftKings for $7,200 and with 12.4 FPPG, or Philadelphia top scorer CJ Sapong with a salary of $6,100 and 10.6 FPPG to take advantage. Both could prove to be shrewd investments for your lineup.

Last season’s new boys Orlando City have certainly adapted well this season and currently sit fourth in the Eastern Conference. This Sunday sees the Lions head to New England Revolution, a side who have faltered so far with just one win from eight. Problems seem to stem from the Revolution’s backline, which has been breached 13 times and could be set for an onslaught from this season’s second highest goalscorers. DraftKings fans may look to avoid spending over the odds on City’s star man Kaka and instead opt for striker Cyle Larin ($7,000 and 12.0 FPPG) or Kevin Molino ($4,600 and 11.4 FPPG) to bolster the midfield.

A reliable goalkeeper may be eluding many fantasy MLS players this season, but DC United stopper Travis Worra may be the answer. His side face a trip to Chicago Fire this Saturday to face a side kicking their heels in ninth and with the second lowest number of goals in the league. Despite DC having conceded ten goals in nine games themselves, the Fire’s inability to regularly find the net may prove the difference. Available to DraftKings fans for $3,300 and with 6.4 FPPG, Worra would look to be a good move in what has been a poor early season for the men between the posts.
